Planetarium Star Tours

This collection features Patrick presenting the Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium’s live star tour: Sky Station LIVE, which he writes, codes, and produces. The tour is updated three times every season and is presented to a variety of audiences including early learners, general public, & school groups.

Theater Productions

This playlist contains two theater production recordings, both co-produced by Patrick, who authored all planetarium content, lighting & sound cues, as well as managing partner business negotiations. The Little Prince was produced in partnership with Mesner Puppet Theater in 2018, and Voyage to Voyager as part of the 2015 KC Fringe Festival.

Animation & Editing

Two animations produced by Patrick as the pre-show introduction before each non-live show. The first half was animated in After Effects and Blender, and the second half was scripted in RSA Cosmos SkyExplorer and rendered to frames.

Professional Development

This recording captures a professional development workshop written and led by Patrick about giving effective feedback to colleagues.

Interactive Livestreams

In March of 2020, the Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium and her sister attractions shut their doors due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Less than two weeks after closing to the public, Patrick led the launch of what would become Union Station’s flagship online content for over a year during the ongoing closures.

These hour-long livestreams featured a wide variety of content including virtual seasonal night sky tours, interactive audience Q&As, hands-on demonstrations, and weekly deep-dives into dozens and dozens of astronomy and space exploration topics.

The livestreams transitioned to a monthly format in 2021 and continued into 2024 with steady and active viewership. After four years, Patrick had produced nearly 90 hours of content over 100 distinct shows, accumulating over 350,000 views from local and international audiences.

Recordings of all past streams can be found at youtube.com/kcplanetarium.
